Crack Gauge - Crack Measurement [SZ04]

Professional crack width indicator designed for monitoring advanced cracks in building structures. It has been specifically developed to measure out-of-plane displacement – situations where a cracked wall moves forwards and backwards, causing the individual sections of the wall to shift relative to each other and form a step or offset.

How does it work?

The device features a unique design and consists of three independent elements: a lower (base) plate, an upper (reading) plate, and a dedicated reading ruler. A measurement field is marked on one of the base plates.

1. Installation: Both plates are mounted on a flat wall surface on opposite sides of the crack.
2. Front-to-back measurement: When the wall moves forwards or backwards, the plates move relative to each other in the third dimension (Z-axis).
3. Precise reading: To verify changes, the separate measuring ruler included in the set is placed against the dedicated projections on the mounted plates, allowing the resulting offset to be measured precisely.
