How to choose the perfect survey pole extension?

In surveying, every centimeter counts, so it is not worth compromising when choosing an extension. The key parameter we focus on in our product range is perfect axial alignment. Poor-quality connectors can cause "wobble" at the thread, which, at a height of several meters, translates into linear errors that are unacceptable for precision engineering tasks.

Material matters: Aluminum vs. Carbon Depending on the specifics of your projects, you can choose the solution best suited to your needs:

• Aluminum extensions: A classic choice, characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage and an affordable price. They are powder-coated in bright colors (e.g., red or yellow), making them easy to locate in the field.

• Carbon fiber extensions: The best choice for greater heights. They are lighter, which reduces surveyor fatigue, and above all, they feature minimal thermal expansion and immense rigidity – the pole does not "sway" even in stronger winds.

Practical applications Surveying extensions are used in many scenarios:

• GNSS measurements in forests: Raising the receiver antenna above the densest foliage often allows for obtaining a "fix" in seemingly inaccessible areas.

• Utility surveying: Essential for measuring the bottoms of deep sewer manholes or foundation excavations.

• Measurements under tree canopies: They allow the prism to "escape" above obstacles obstructing the total station's line of sight.
